Keep calling your Congress Critters....they have pagers and cellphones that they receive messages on up to the minute that they vote.

Rep. Waxman (D-pig snout, CA) just intdroduced his bill....without disclosing another 300 pages and last minute admendments who, God knows what, is included.

Anyways....we are in for a helluv an afternoon, with our Constitutional Republic at stake at the worst, and our capitalist, free market way of life at the best.

They put out the test vote to make us think it’s all over. It is NOT. We can stop this! Keep calling. I have called, faxed and emailed all day. Especially to my RINO Congressman Tom Petri (R-WI) who apparently is still sitting on the fence. I am hoping my calls plus many others will knock him “off” the fence! We honestly can stop this. To steal a line from our fearless leader, YES, WE CAN!!!

Why don’t they just call it the “Destruction of the American Economy Act”?

That would be more honest.

Rush just said that Andrea Mitchell has quoted Harry Reid that Cap-and-Trade doesn't have a prospect of passage in the Senate. Basically DOA.

He also said that those who vote for this bill "have seen their last days in Congress in front of them. They are going to lose. The majority of them are going to lose re-election."

American Energy Act Introduced June 12th with virtually no media coverage and only 1 press release that doesn't give the number of the bill. It's a great bill, but poorly marketed. I haven't heard a Republican talk about it yet. Call Conservative Republicans and tell them to show their idea:

They should rename this bill “The Congressional Theft and Forced Unemployment Act”

Though supporters claim otherwise, this bill will harm scientific innovation by promoting technological mediocrity (because of built-in requirements for enormous amounts of upfront capital expenditures for soon to be embarrassingly obsolete technology that will take a decade or more to reach cost recovery - even with enormous subsidies on one side of the scale, and cap’n’tax on the other).

Before the dinosaur technology comes close to cost recovery, energy generated by next-generation solar and modern nuclear reactor technology will be cheaper than that available even from coal, natural gas, or petroleum - without subsidies, without differential tax rates, without other forms of social engineering. That is the direction we are headed, and the government is going to muck things up before we get there.

The twin engines of genuine progress - science/engineering and the free market - are what solve problems. These people pushing this crap have no interest in the environment or geopolitical concerns. This is about wealth redistribution - nationally and internationally. This is about control of enterprise. This is about paying back special interests. Saddest of all, this is about the few well-meaning paternalists (for whom the above is not applicable) desperate to do something, having been convinced by various deluded busybodies (whose word is accepted as holy writ) that failure to act will result in some profane incarnation of Armageddon.

I’m embarrassed. Wisconsin’s own Tammy Baldwin just spoke for Cap and Trade. All the normal dem talking points. If we “respond to this challenge” it will result in loss of lives, species destruction, declines in health, blah, blah, blah... Ad nauseum.

Malkin just twittered:

Dem Whip Clyburn "We aren't there yet." DEMS DON'T HAVE VOTES BURN PHONE LINES

Also, Harry Reid apparently told MSNBC that he doesn't have the votes in the Senate either.

I contacted my congressman John Spratt’s people and told them that man caused global warming is a nefarious hoax contrived to increase socialist control of a free people.I asked him to keep this fact in mind when he votes.

Spratt ain't the worse but he has a lot of seniority and wants Pelosi’s job—so natch he blows the far left moonbats with gusto now.

Our district is a gerrymandered minority majority one so as a conservative my opinion is a whiz in the wind—but I tried.

Rush has now said that Dems are 12 votes short.

They have 17 that are undecided. Rush says those are not good odds for passage.

Keep up the pressure.
