Musically he can’t be compared to Elvis or The Beatles. They changed music and society- Michael did neither. To his credit he could perform and did record some catchy tunes, but James Brown was better, IMHO.

He’s another soul who’s now in a better place- hopefully?

I was never a big James Brown fan either, but at least Brown’s music was directed at a mature crowd. I can listen to “I Feel Good” and some of his other stuff without reaching for the dial. Jackson’s musical appeal was totally lost on me.
