S.C. GOP Leader Says Straying Gov Should Resign
MSNBC ^ | 5/25/09

Sanford was with his family Thursday as legal and ethical questions swirled

A top South Carolina Republican leader said philandering Gov. Mark Sanford should resign and practice the philosophy he's preached of holding GOP leaders accountable.

Glenn McCall is one of the state's two national representatives to the Republican National Committee. He's also a county party chairman and said Thursday that party members want Sanford out.

McCall said Sanford repeatedly has said party leaders should be held accountable for not upholding the GOP's principles. And McCall says the married father of four should be held to the same standard.

Especially given the fact that he used State funds to have the tryst.

If a Republican governor from a Southern state is too much of a hick to identify a foreign national operative of the DNC when he’s approached by her, he should get out of Dodge—he’s not smart enough!!!

If his dereliction of his job and erratic behaviour wasn’t enough, here’s another reason to kick him: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2279462/posts

Much better than Senator Graham. At least he’d only be their problem.

He has known her for 8 years. She is not a DNC operative. If the GOP (or the Dims) expelled everyone who has had an extramarital affair, they would have very few candidates.

Works for me.

I agree that he should resign. He is a nut. This guy could have gone to Argentina and still kept in touch with his office. A call to his staff telling them that he needed to unwind and did not want to be called, but that he would check in every few days during his needed down time would have worked.

What did this idiot do? He set himself up. He knew full well that he couldn’t just disappear. It is scary to think about crazy people being in positions of great power. I guess it is just another sign of the degeneration of our nation.

How about Governor Henry McMaster?

And Lt. Governor Bill Connor?

Two rock solid conservatives; one is the current S.C. attorney general, the other is a lieutenant colonel in the S.C. Guard just back from Afghanistan; both are formidable legal minds.

Given the behavior of the GOP I wouldn’t count on it unless it was a means of getting him out of the senate so he could be replaced with another RINO.

Can the whole SC GOP step down also? If not all of them, I’d settle for being rid of Gresham Barret and Bob Ingles.

Oh yeah, can we get rid of Pandsey also? Maybe he’s got a boytoy down in Uruguay that he’s been flying down to see...

I hate that this happened because the liberal press just won’t let it go when it is a Republican. Fortunately, with Michael Jackson’s death the two bit governor from SC story will disappear.

Stop focusing on this tripe, ax the guy and go back to putting the “Rome fire” out that has started in Washington.

JMHO.
