This framed photograph of President Obama and his aunt, Zeituni Onyango, taken when he was an Illinois state senator, was displayed in her home in Boston during as a 2009 photo shoot
Onyango became the subject of media attention during Obama's 2008 presidential campaign after press found out she was living illegally in the United States at that time. A judge later waived orders for Onyango to be deported, and she has been living in the country legally since 2010.In 2001 when then-Illinois State Senator Barack Obama's first child was born, it was Obama's aunt Kenyan aunt Zeituni Onyango who stepped in to help new parents Barack and Michelle. Onyango, who had moved to the United States the year before on a visa, took care of baby Sasha and kept the Obama's Chicago home in tidy order.

Zeituni Onyango arrived in the US in 2000, WAS NANNY FOR SASHA OBAMA, was 'discovered' by the press in 2008, had her deportation waived in 2010...and died in 2014.

"We have buried the late Zeitun Onyango in accordance with the regulations of Islam," Sheikh Musa Ismail, a Muslim cleric who led the funeral prayers, told Anadolu Agency at the Sunni Muslim cemetery in the port city of Kisumu.
