What hurts more than anything is that he portrayed himself as the ‘family values’ conservative all along. He even campaigned that way.

Now he not only destroyed his credibility, he destroyed the credibility of the GOP but more importantly the CONSERVATIVES.

Now the dems will have another scapegoat to define hypocrisy.

I’m fed up with the GOP especially with the way the Lt. Gov ratted Sanford out albeit for a good reason. I hope Palin and Jindal quit the party and form a new Conservative party from the ground up that adheres to the constitution.

Conservatism was, is, and will always be the party that fosters the American Dream. But with losers like Romney, McCain and now Sanford that is being shattered.

He may very well have actually been that person until a year ago when the affair started. I doubt he ever intended to cheat on his wife. I'm not defending his behavior for the past year, but I don't think he presented himself as a "family man" with the intent to deceive.
