I live in SC and DO NOT want Bauer as gov.

Why? He's a Republican and wears his Christianity on his sleeve the way George Bush did...I thought S.C. conservatives like that? (They sure did when old pius Bob Jones trashed John McCain's primary candidacy against Bush back in 2000).

It's well-known that info like this is collected and used at an importune time.

And it was just coincidence that an "Importune time" was when Sanford blew off Father's Day to jet off to Argentina to see his girlfriend. Right.

How hard would it be to pay some amazing looking girl to throw herself at unsuspecting potential challengers?

Uh, this has been eight years in the making, dude.

Sometimes it doesn't take a conspiracy. Often, the Lone Idiot Theory explains things.

Barbour is good... But right now, Pence and DeMint are at the top of my list.

Agreed, but she didn’t stand there beside him, so that’s something we haven’t seen in awhile

Recall what Dick Armey said when asked if he had an affair like Clinton - would his wife be as supportive as Hillary? Armey answered along the lines that his last experience in this world would be his wife standing over him yelling “How do I reload this thing?”

Bill Clinton had numerous affairs while he was Gov. of Arkansas and that didn’t hold him back in any way. He continued his behavior into the White House and won two terms. Oh, and he committed perjury...

I have to agree with beandog. It’s true that in some cases a man strays in part because his wife neglected him in some way, but that is more of a convenient excuse than a real motivation. First, it’s every spouse’s duty to avoid emotional entanglement with members of the opposite sex that may send them down the wrong road. Second, I’ve known a wife or three (and a couple of husbands) who were doing everything they could to make their marriages good and got cheated on anyway. Some people just allow themselves to care more about their groin than their spouse and kids. Some guys turn their mid-life crisis into an “excuse” for their fickle pickle.

That’s not to say that’s the situation in the Sanford household (for all we know Mrs. Sanford is Eve Ensler with a Southern accent), I’m just saying that in almost all situations cheating is about the cheater, not the cheater’s spouse.

Lord help us if we use Bill Clinton as justification for our behavior. I hold myself and those I support to a higher standard.

We're Republicans. We take out our trash instead of re-electing it.

“I know a LOT of women who love Palin, but I know a lot of women who voted for Bush both times, who can’t stand Palin, because they think she resembles the very type of woman they hate.”

I know three conservative women in my office that voted twice for GW Bush but all three voted for nObama precisely because they cant stand Sarah Palin. They think she is too religious and preachy.

If that’s what it takes to bury the supposedly-religious conservatives, so be it.

If we would learn to put our faith and trust in G-d Almighty instead of men (especially politicians); we would NEVER wind up disappointed. Never.

Good grief! Can't any of them keep it in their pants?

There's an old saying that could explain it...it goes "A stiff ---- has no conscience!". Apparently, no brains either.

True. That's why Nixon wasn't impeached. We told him to get out.
