Yes they are! Count my finger!
True story: my sister and her boyfriend were driving thru the mountains near LA, and pulled over to catch the view. A guy was setting off some pretty powerful fireworks in the pullout, and blew off his finger just as they pulled up.
My sister's boyfriend found the finger among the rocks,stopped the bleeding and they drove the guy to the nearest hospital. I don't know if it was successfully reattached.
LOL hysterical!!!! Thanks for the laugh!
Not only that, by leaving the 'roof' on, they could work in the shade, unlike the solar cooker of an open pit...
