Yeah I thought that was a bit weird myself. Is he trying to make himself seem more human and less of a politician? Doesn’t matter...he supposedly stands for conservative values which of course doesn’t include adultery.
It seemed cathartic to me. I think he wanted to get it all out...and I think he still loves his girl from Ipanema and doesn't want to let go.

Yeah, you get the impression that if it wasn’t for his sense of “duty”, he’d rather be with his girlfriend.
It just goes to show you the kind of power women can have over men. As soon as I heard about this I thought the woman was a Democratic Operative. I am really disappointed, I was just starting to get my hopes up over him. Give me a man any day for President over a women. I just don’t think it is a job for a woman unless your name is Margret Thatcher. It is very, very sad that this has happened. How could he? He threw it all away, and for what? A woman? Good Lord!
