Everyone is entitled to a little free time and most of his constituents agree with me.

“Everyone is entitled to a little free time and most of his constituents agree with me.”

If I were a resident of SC, I wouldn’t be happy that my governor was completely out of contact.

Free time is something wholly different than dropping off the radar while being a sitting Governor.

I believe most of his constiuents would agree with that simple statement.

Free time isn't the issue. It's being outta touch without anyone, presumably, knowing where you are when you're the governor of a state.

That said, I'll bet the WH knew where Sanford was. Someone should ask Gibbs.

As SC resident and as someone who has voted for Mark Sanford in multiple primaries, three Congressional general elections and two Gubernatorial general elections, I will say I have no problem he took the trip, but I would feel better if his staff and wife could say they knew where he was. If no one really knew he was in South America, then that makes me feel a little uneasy about Mark Sanford’s judgment, and I am his biggest fan.

“I write to you from a place 90 miles from Monticello…which I visit three or four times a year, & stay from a fortnight to a month at a time. I have fixed myself comfortably, keep some books here, bring others occasionally, am in the solitude of a hermit….”

Thomas Jefferson.

These American idle voters need to grow the hell up and stop playing the democrats game.

You are completely correct, except in this case he is the Govenor of State, and his responsibility is to transfer power BEFORE he leaves the COUNTRY!

It has nothing to do with his free time.

It is the protocol that should have been followed. He should have put the LT Governor in charge and made an announcement he was taking a vacation - see you in a week.

We need to wake up people. We have to be one step ahead of this administration and the press - if you are not they will swallow you up in the sea of perception, etc.

This isn’t rocket science...you just have to read Alinsky’s work to see how they do it. Once you know what they are going to do you can make your play ahead of them. Quite frankly is Sanford wasn’t wise to this then he is either too arrogant or just a fool.

We need smart people that are willing to step up to the game and help us defeat the tyranny that is on our doorsteps - and Sanford clearly isn’t one of them. Shame but better we find out now than later.

Are there any real Patriots left in our country?
