This media flap is someone’s attempt to remove a potential rival in the next presidential election.
Way too much noise for the event.
Look how easily the idea is going around that “well, that’s it, he’ll never run for president now...”
Who can pull the media strings like this to zap an opponent?
It all started when a GOP state senator(Knotts), who does not like Sanford, decided he would contact the press and tell the State (SC newspaper) that Sanford was missing and it was a terrible calamity. Step 2 is media interview the Dems to get their “reaction”. I think he should let a few people know what he is up to in order to avoid this type of scene. However all of this is designed to damage him, even though he did leave himself open to attack.
