I have stayed out of this so far, I really didn't think it would turn out to be that big of a deal. Having said that, if the Governor of a State leaves not only the State, but the COUNTRY without transferring power, I would think that is extremely irresponsible, possibly even impeachable!

This goes beyond "needing a little time alone to recharge". What if a major city in SC would have been wiped out by a tornado? Or other disaster. Who besides the Gov has the authority to deploy the resources needed for immediate relief?

I have just taken him off my potential 2012 support list. Even if he has a benign reason for leaving, he left without transferring his responsibilities. That is inforgivable, and extremely irresponsible!

I wouldn’t say it was impeachable. Presidents go out of the country all the time without transferring power. As long as he were reachable within a reasonable period of time, which he was, not a big deal.

The way it has been handled, however, is very damaging to him.
