I bet there’s an almost perfect relationship, between those so ready to condemn Sanford - and Mittens.

Just.... wow.

You really believe that, don't you?

Amazing.

Sometimes FR can be a disturbing place.

“You and some of the rest need to settle down and let the facts come out”

Might I suggest that you take you own advice.

“It is not the media’s fault that they have been given different stories”

Headlines such as these reveal their agenda and analysis of the stories show mostly supposition with (again) mostly unidentified sources.... what don’t they know.

Sanford (coincidentally) disappears to hike Appalachian Trail on Naked Hiking Day

Sanford’s Hiking Trail Got Stimulus Money He Opposed

“He is the Governor of South Carolina and that is his obligation 24/7 and when he leaves the State, it is his obligation to name the Lt Governor acting not just leave without his security detail and not even hiw wife knowing where he is”
Goodness I didn’t realize you were on the “Governors Responsibilities Committee”, what states do you have responsibility for, do you have a web site.

Yep. It doesn't look good and perception is important. Sounds fishy that he's already asked for privacy for his family THEN comes out and says he'll give a presser. Should be interesting.

P.S. Next time you bug out, Gov. Sanford, will you kindly take my Governator with you, please?

You have a cutesy little picture of your sainted Socialist on your webpage, and you little termites just come popping out of the woodwork as soon as anyone opposed to your own personal messiah shows up. Get lost.

Just answer the question man

If a tornado wiped out a city in South Carolina..

Would you be calling the people wondering where their governor was Willard Bpts?

Clearly some are Slick Willard disciples, but some aren’t, and those are the ones I’m shocked about in their gleeful participation in a lynch mob.

The government traced his cell phone and couldn’t find him.

I hope that they had a warrant.

“Who cares where he went?””He is an adult living in a free land and his comings and goings are his business.”

I agree. Everyone deserves a few days off now and then. For those of you afraid the world will end if there is an emergency while he is away, that is why states have lieutenant governors. No one in the world is so valuable, so irreplaceable, that they can't take a few days off and turn off the phone. All these posters crying like little girls over this need to get a life.

No, just reports. The media also reported he was on a hike, which I think is probably a rumor they started because he DOES like to hike ...

His wife probably knew, but was covering for him so he COULD get away. Don't blame them for that -- being the governor of a state is a BIG responsibility. If he was on a cruise by himself, and he or his staff pre-announced it, he'd have paparazzis from the Globe and Examiner shadowing his EVERY MOVE, waiting to see if he might commit some impropriety they could plaster on the front page to hurt his chances for 2012.

He could have handle his disappearance better, IMO. The staff could have covered for him better...

But in all fairness, you have to admit ... if Mr. Obama had "disappeared" for a few days, we'd be on that story like stink on sh!t.

The rino mittbots wantr to destroy all alternate choices, to force Mittens upon Republicans by default, kind of like we were forced to vote McCain or usher in the affirmative action figure liar-in-chief. It was only Palin that got me to the polls in November’08. And I was fools, initially, enough to vote Romney in the primaries! But never again will he dupe me with his empty words. And I find his sycophantic supporters willing to destroy anyone they perceive as standing in the Mittiac’s way to be most disgusting and a reflection of him to boot!

>> Maybe the revolution is getting ready to start and he was on a secret planning mission. Come on guys, he simply did what we all wish we could do at one time or another. The state was in good hands. I felt safe. You know his wife knew where he was at. She was just protecting him, as a good wife will. To maintain your sanity you have to take a break. If we all did this we would be much better off. A truly good leader has an organization that works just as well whether he is their or not. I live in South Carolina, I noticed no change in services while he was gone. Looks like he had everything under control <<

I so hope you are right on this. I really hope he documented his trip and can make the press look like a bunch of blithering idiots.

Take it from a wife’s perspective, sweetheart, if a husband doesn’t tell his wife and kids where he’s going - that’s a big problem.

I’m not taking the media’s word, I’m listening between the lines to what his wife has been quoted as saying.

‘mister’ Obama is the president. But that was a nice try at conflating.

There’s a real nasty one-note tyrant on this thread—I’d just ignore him.

“It’s possible to fly to Argentina and take the cruise from there.”

Or fly to Santiago, Chile, and take a cruise from there, through the Straits of Magellan, to Buenos Aires. I know, because my parents did exactly that a little while back.

The media didn’t make up the Appalachian Trail rumor—that’s what his staff reported as fact on Monday evening.

There’s no way to change his mind..

But at least others now see that he is a one-note tyrant.
