Who is going to buy these cars especially if cap and tax raises electric rates 50%?
Will Nissan really want to build in the U.S.?
It’s a free for all folks. Now all the car companies will be getting in bed with the government and sucking the government nipple.
Now Obama is setting the stage to buy Ford and nationalize them too.
The American dream is really turning into a “NIGHTMARE”.
Tesla is getting government money? Wasn’t there an unfortunate incident in Philadelphia the last time they did?
The American dream is really turning into a “NIGHTMARE”.
Why aren’t they getting loans from a bank instead of a government agency? Hmmmmmm......
How do we loan money we don’t have?
You can trade your clunker in, get the $4000 taxpayer check, and then all you have to do is make payments on the the remaining $105,000 auto loan.
While I normally don’t like government loans to private industry, I have to think twice, when the Government essentially forces them to build certain kinds of cars. The new CAFE standards are going to be hard to meet. So I might give Ford a pass on this one.
since they won’t build nuke plants, the only option is going to be fuel cells, which release water vapor as a by-product, which is a far more effective greenhouse gas than CO2 ever was. Idiots!
This money was from the Pelosi/Reid/Bush CAFE regs. The money was with DOE and they had to submit a plan of action for fuel economy increases to receive the money for plant retooling. In other words, the plan has to be hard product, not vaporware. So assume the new car replacng the old car will get 20% better mileage. Their was some heartburn about the process and they had to streamline it, to get the money to them faster.
