If there were Iranian soldiers fighting against a pro-US government in Mexico, I’d imagine we’d be sending the Mexican Army some lethal goodies to kill Iranian soldiers (at the very least).

How is this analogous to the Iranian involvement in Iraq killing our soldiers?

Simple, if you actually took the time to think about. The Iranians don’t like having what they see as an enemy army next door. Why we are there, well, that’s a subject for another thread entirely.
