Speaking of Straits, how do things look from your side of the Strait? It's quiet here...all of the action is about 400 miles to the east of here. ;-)
How are things in the Aloha State?

Not bad....so far. We are facing the dilemma of becoming a milestone marker in the upcoming DPRK missile test (as is Alaska). Do we have a authorization to shoot the sucker down if it passes a threshold...and what is the threshold?
Obama's tee time on the 4th of July is at 10:00 and I don't think he's been briefed on the IDL and time differences. We'll just have to wait and see.

Poor father! Prayers for him also as well. I hope for their many sufferings they will find the Mercy.
"Then I fell at his feet and thought, Surely this is the hour of death, for the Lion (who is worthy of all honour) will know that I have served Tash all my days and not him. Nevertheless, it is better to see the Lion and die than to be Tisroc of the world and live and not to have seen him. But the Glorious One bent down his golden head and touched my forehead with his tongue and said, Son, thou art welcome. But I said, Alas, Lord, I am no son of thine but the servant of Tash. He answered, Child, all the service thou hast done to Tash, I account as service done to me. Then by reasons of my great desire for wisdom and understanding, I overcame my fear and questioned the Glorious One and said, Lord, is it then true, as the Ape said, that thou and Tash are one? The Lion growled so that the earth shook (but his wrath was not against me) and said, It is false. Not because he and I are one, but because we are opposites, I take to me the services which thou hast done to him. For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore if any man swear by Tash and keep his oath for the oath's sake, it is by me that he has truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then, though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted. Dost thou understand, Child? I said, Lord, thou knowest how much I understand. But I said also (for the truth constrained me), Yet I have been seeking Tash all my days. Beloved, said the Glorious One, unless thy desire had been for me thou shouldst not have sought so long and so truly. For all find what they truly seek."

LOL - that Gore Vidal was a pompous ass, wasn't he?
Buckley kicked some butt on that one.

I've heard about that.
I'll certainly say a prayer for all of you in hopes that this never comes to fruition.
This would be an unguided missile, right? In my experience, those very rarely come anywhere near the intended target.

I once read that Vidal acted as a catamite to some influential lefties.
I wonder if this is related to seatrout's fixation on homosexuality.
Cheers!

What a juxtaposition of photos! A stark contrast made even more poignant when you see the reflection of all the news media microphones in Øbama’s picture and realize that it is the Freedom Media (cell phones & the internet) that was our witness to the tragedy in Iran. Interesting, too, that no American television network even has the guts to show the video.

these are a small percentage of Iran's demographic.
Wrong; 70% of Iran's population is under the age of 30.

The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. I wonder what kind of regime would the rioters put in place if they got their way?

Seems like you have the same mindset as the mullahs. Alex, I will take trolls for $500. May your exit be easier than those you have mocked in Iran.

This isn’t about Musavi. He was simply the catalyst. The election results were an excuse to riot against the mullahs.
From an Iranian blog: Amir, Mashhad, aged 23: Please let the world know the people of Iran are using the election and its outcome as an excuse, their real problem is the whole system and the corrupt regime of the Islamic Republic. Anything that happens to us is because of this religion. How can I make you understand, religious beliefs are personal and should not be enforced on the public.
