It is my theory that Stanley Ann never made it back to Hawaii after her episode in Kenya. I think Grandfather Obama made it clear that he did not want her in the same state as his son, Barack Sr. I suspect their return flight went from Kenya to London and out to Vancouver BC in a polar route (being summertime, it was a good time for such a flight). When in Vancouver BC, Stanley and “Barry” went on to Mercer Island, Washington State by ferry. Barack Sr went on to Hawaii.

The bogus Certification of Live Birth and birth announcement in the newspaper was done by Stanley Ann's mother, “Toots” who was in Hawaii.

Chief Engineer's theory, which seems reasonable to me, is that she never went to Kenya, but rather had BHO in or near Vancouver, from where her Mercer Island friend(s) could then have driven her across the border to Washington State.

The reasons for "Vancouver" (or nearby) involve the "shame" of a mixed race baby, a shotgun marriage to BHO Sr, who would have been no US mother's or father's notion of good match for their daughter, even if he had been a Redneck from Oklahoma. Add a desire by Toots to have her give up the baby in Canada, where "mixed race" was not nearly so unusual or "negative" at that time. But then Stanley Ann reneged on the deal she'd made with her mother and kept the baby.
