The government watchdog President Obama canned for allegedly being "confused" and "disoriented" fired back sharply Wednesday, saying the White House explanation for removing him was "insufficient," "baseless" and "absolutely wild."
Gerald Walpin, who until last week was the inspector general for the Corporation for National and Community Service, told FOXNews.com that part of Obama's explanation was a "total lie" and that he feels he's got a target on his back for political reasons.
"I am now the target of the most powerful man in this country, with an army of aides whose major responsibility today seems to be to attack me and get rid of me," Walpin said.
----
"I would never say President Obama doesn't have the capacity to continue to serve because of his (statement) that there are 56 states," Walpin said, adding that the same holds for Vice President Biden and his "many express confusions that have been highlighted by the media."
Walpin concluded that his firing stems from bad blood between him and the board, as well as with Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson -- an Obama supporter whom he had investigated for alleged misuse of federal funds.

Direct links to the Walpin story on Glenn Beck's show (June 15).
Walpin is as sharp as a tack, and is playing this as a highly-seasoned, astute attorney would, trying to stay as politically-neutral as possible. It's obvious that Obama violated the law and is trying to cover for a political ally (Kevin Johnson):
Video (direct link): Former Inspector General Gerald Walpin: 'Fired For Doing My Job'
Here's the Transcript of the video:
BECK: OK. So, gosh, he hasn't given you a reason on why you have been terminated.
WALPIN: No.
BECK: I have read the letter. It doesn't it just does it says it just basically that he doesn't have faith in you.
WALPIN: Well, that's a conclusion. That's not a reason.

Here's one: "Several White House and National Security Council sources told Fox that the retired Marine general is so forgetful and inefficient that several officials seriously wonder if hes suffering from Alzheimer's disease."

See my post 48. It seems the FBI IS investigating the deleted emails. Obama was trying to cover for his buds, but now there’s a little more light on what is really going on.

The Sacramento mayor is not in jail because he is a bud of BO’s..that is why this man was fired he had the nerve to tell on the rats friend...If you are black in this country and a friend of the commie in the white house then you don't have a thing to worry about..but if you are honest white and try to do the job you are hired for then watch it..

Walpin is so much sharper, and able to speak coherently and lucidly without notes or teleprompters, than either Obama or Biden who are ten to twenty years younger, that maybe envy also is playing a role in this smear campaign.

Yeah, and how about 0bama having been confused about whether he’s a Muslim or not? And something about 10,000 people died in a tornado a couple years ago? Seriously confused about a number of historic points, from what I have read of critiques about his Cairo speech. Confused about the meaning of “transparency”, confused about tax cuts to 95% of the people, confused about Rev. Wright’s agenda.... I hope this Walpin guy fights back and HARD.

Is St. Hope tied to SEIU and ACORN? Obama would only risk the firing to protect his slush funds. Something tells me they are all tied sneakily or outright.

I did a google search and you’re correct the MSM is not touching this.

ARCHIVED Gerald Walpin's bio, before being deleted from cncsig.gov website:Gerald Walpin, the Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service, has pursued a
vigorous effort to investigate and prosecute all persons who betray the publics trust by defrauding the
Corporation and its programs.
A prominent New York attorney, Walpin was nominated by President
George W. Bush, confirmed by the U.S. Senate and sworn into office on
January 8, 2007. He leads the Office of Inspector General (OIG), an
independent Federal agency charged with oversight over the taxpayer-
supported Corporation and its service programs, including AmeriCorps,
Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and Senior Corps.
My major objective is to expand upon the good work of this office by
preventing, detecting and prosecuting all thefts and frauds, said Walpin.
The reality is that such misconduct takes precious resources away from
deserving people, the same way the theft of a welfare check hurts a single
mother who needs that money to buy milk for her children. For that reason,
this office will seek out and ensure sanctions for all wrongdoing involving
Walpin said his other major goal is to assist the Corporation in making its services efficient and accessible
for all national service stakeholders.
A New York City native, Walpin graduated from College of the City of New York in 1952. He earned his law
degree, cum laude, in 1955 from Yale Law School, where he was managing editor of the Yale Law Journal.
From 1957-60, he served as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General.
His career included a five-year stint as Chief of Prosecutions for the United States Attorney for the Southern
District of New York, where he successfully prosecuted a number of high-profile cases. He spent more than
40 years as senior partner and, more recently, of counsel to New York-based Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Mr. Walpin has represented a wide range of clients, including large public corporations, securities brokerage
firms, accounting firms, law firms, banks in lender liability claims, and individuals, both American and
foreign, in securities litigations, employment litigations, criminal prosecutions, and investigations by the
United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Both as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and in his law firm,
he was frequently called upon to investigate fraudulent conduct.
Included in the published compilation The Best Lawyers in America, Mr. Walpin served from 20022004 as
president of the Federal Bar Council, the association of attorneys practicing in the Second Circuit Federal
courts. In 2003, he was honored with the American Inns of Court Professionalism Award for outstanding
professionalism as an attorney and for mentoring younger lawyers.
Walpin and his wife Sheila, married for more than 50 years, have three children and six grandchildren
