Will be hoping that you will find someone to share expenses with.
It would be wonderful to meet you.

Can you please keep in contact with Kristinn and Angelwood, and a ‘cc’ to me you be good, concerning the Walter Reed Friday night events. As I’m sure you know, some DC Chapter members have the evening Troop Support Rally every Friday night at the gates. It would be good to know what to expect and to provide any help.
[Mr] T
If we plan to attend the Troop Support Rally, do we need to let you know?
PrissyMissy and I plan to be there.
“some DC Chapter members have the evening Troop Support Rally every Friday night at the gates. It would be good to know what to expect and to provide any help.”
When we get close to the Tea Party Convention weekend, we will know the approximate number of Freepers who will be arriving in DC on 9/11 in time to attend the Troop Support Rally at Walter Reed on that Friday evening.
Thanks for getting back to us and JustAmy.
There is plenty of parking available and the DC Chapter will be ready.

Are there any other Freepers from Koxville, TN going who would like to share the cost of gas? I’ll be driving my Navigator out on the 8th and returning on the 13th.
Hi! You are the first 6 Freepers who have a room booked and also purchased your Convention tickets! You will be entered in the T-shirt drawing! No numbers have been assign as we STILL HAVE FOUR MORE OPENINGS for the drawing!
FREEPERS WHO HAVE BOOKED A ROOM AT THE SHERATON! Get your ticket as soon as you can so you can enter the T-shirt drawing! Four more to go to get to our total of 10!
REMEMBER! A beautiful personalized Free Republic T-shirt will be given away to the winner!

Hi, Libstripper! Be sure to post your request on your TN State Free Republic Forum! Other Tennessee Freepers will see your message and perhaps will join you! Our state FR forums is the best place to get in touch with other Freepers in our particular states. :) Jean
I find this very confusing. I am prepared to go. I WANT to go. But I can only get away to attend the rally/march/whatever you want to call it.
I’ve read things here that indicate this is strictly a Freeper event. I don’t mind attending those, but I originally thought this 9/12 thing was intended to be a single, huge version of the tea parties...not just a Freeper thing.
I’ve very confused now.
Hank
The Freeper Convention activities include those listed above in post #11 which are covered by the Convention ticket.
If you can only attend the events during the day on Saturday, that is fine. We Freepers will have a banner well displayed so folks can find us! :)
I’m gonna have to pass on this one. I could accept the hotel room rates, but the convention price is steep for me. I’ll see you all at the march on the 12th (hopefully).
I will chalk it off to tired eyes! I missed adding Freeper “OC Mike” to the list of drawing entries!

Well I’m not coming. This is clearly for those who have money to burn. I was thinking about making it a family thing but $175 a person is a deal breaker for me. I have 4 kids and even though I could do it I’m not going to. At $1050 before the hotel room well I have better things to spend my money on. Like helping get some of our candidates elected. I was looking forward to this and I love Freerepublic but even the Kos kids did better than this at $50 a ticket for their convention. Even gaming conventions do better than this. Is this a convention that really wants people other than retirees and single people to show up? I’m sorry but I’m not impressed. I’m not trying to be a wet blanket but this is a real disappointment. Also I read somewhere this hotel doesn’t even offer free internet in the rooms. Also if I’m not mistaking the parking is $18 a day for those who may not be flying in. I travel a lot and this doesn’t seem like a good deal at all and it is a pity I expected better.
I had the same idea. This is billed like some crappy convention. I’ve been to conventions in D.C. I was hoping for an event where all could come. This is clearly not a family event and not anything what was billed. This is a big disappointment.
What’s with those rates? I’ve been to conventions in D.C. before and that is really steep.
I don’t want to be too harsh. I wish them well. While it does seem high, my problem isn’t with the $175. If I had the time I’d probably attend. But like most conservatives, I work and living in Texas, it’s going to be all I can do do break away for the march. I want to do it badly enough, though to drive 120 miles to DFW, take a plane to DC, stay overnight on the 11th, and fly back the morning of the 13th. I’m entirely willing to do that.
I really DO want to attend the march. I was at the local tea party and have been saying for some time that we need a big DC march to avoid being marginalized....so I’m all in for that. I wish more effort were being directed to that, though, getting people there, maybe organizing busses, etc., than a “convention.”
Hank
Hotwire is offering a 4 star hotel in Arlington for $79 for the same period for those who don’t want to pay the convention rate.
My hubby and I are taking the dirty $250 we got from the Government and going to put it to good use. We decided we would clean that money up by taking ourselves to DC along with other patriots to defend our Constitution! And the best part will be to stay in a beautiful Hotel at a great price and be among Freepers from across the country!
Hank I agree. I will have that Friday off. I plan to go to the march but what really burns me is that many Freepers have kids hard enough but the $175 a person is just not good if you want people to come. I was looking forward to some good grassroots stuff not this typical D.C. inside the beltway convention. I’m sorry but this is not what I thought we were going to be doing.
Is there a discount for the children or are they not welcome at the events?
