To be completely candid, I haven't the faintest idea what Gov. Palin means when she says, "...all of us that consider ourselves progressive --you know at the same time we can be conservative-- we're gonna shatter the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America.
All I can say is that I think the comment was foolish on its face.
However, in deference to the many FReepers who have come to view her as the second coming of Ronald Reagan, I can say that RR also suffered from what author Nicholas Wapshott termed RR's, "verbal incontinence."
As to her "Feminist" side, (Her association with the "Feminists for Life" group) I will say that, IMHO, Gov. Palin is fast becoming the poster person for the folly of women working outside the home.
Flame on, fellow Freepers.
This "progressive" (liberal) label you're trying to put on her isn't even worth responding to. Find some other talking point.
I think Palin is evil.

Get a grip...
I think if she sticks with her principles during this process she will be the future of the GOP. She is going to have to have some thick skin to get there because she is going to have the Left and the Dems go after her as well as people within the GOP.
She needs to remember this:
Conservatives Are Single-Largest Ideological Group
http://www.gallup.com/poll/120857/Conservatives-Single-Largest-Ideological-Group.aspx
This is the dirty secret the media and the Left don’t want anyone to know. In fact, they don’t want the GOP to know because they know if they run a truly conservative candidate, the GOP wins.
If Sarah runs in 2012 I will most definitely vote for her.
Yeah, but according to you the smartest people you’ve ever met have been high school drop outs, so you don’t have a whole lot of credibility as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t know that I’d call her evil, but she’s certainly an opportunist of the highest order. She’s playing her fan base like a fiddle and she isn’t above using her children as props. Have faith though. FReepers are a smart bunch. Before it’s over all but those who have full blown crushes on her will realize it and come around.
The Messiah is an instrument of Big Money. They’ve already used him to loot us for trillions. Obama’s accomplishments, or lack thereof, are irrelevant.
Palin claims to be something different. She’s going to have to do something impressive intellectually to contrast herself with the latest slick-talking Democratic lawyer. We’re not talking about impressing people on FreeRepublic; she has to impress Independents and those Republicans who are fleeing the Party by the thousands. Overall, she is considered a lightweight, at best.
And as one of those Reagan Republicans who have left the party because of the previous administration, I actually think Palin is a good start. Not perfect, but better than those sleezes that do all the yakking on television now.
Thanks, I’ll check out the video later.
By the way, Tina Fey was hilarious...
Yawn. It’s one thing to say someone is a coward, for simply not liking your gal no less, and yet another thing to prove it. I have a sense that you wouldn’t even have the foggiest idea about how to go about constructing an intelligent argument to support your claim.
I’m good friends with a Hunter supporter who keeps spouting the same talking point. You can dumbfound him when you ask him how Hunter could win a national election when he couldn’t even place in his own party’s primary.
So....you ARE saying....Obama has no “intellectual accomplishments” and is being used by “Big Money.” I agree. BUT, Sarah has to have “intellectual accomplishments” and we cannot USE HER to accomplish OUR Goals? I think that’s what most here are saying....she makes a great mouthpiece.....it’s the people in the background who orchestrate everything....except with Sarah she at least has Executive experience. Personally, I’d like her to be VP first, but we may not have time for that. (Yeah, she’s considered a “lightweight” by libs.....as if Obama is a HEAVYWEIGHT....BAAWWAAAHHHH)
Certainly not by anyone of consequence.
Her opposition is hoping to cast her in whatever negative light they can, but her performance has been anything but. She is marvelously adept in both politics, and in business. She really has no visible opposition in conservative politics at this point.
Therein lies the hopes of every RINO in the country. Truly an absurd statement. The loons have not shut up because they see the brilliance, charisma, and political aptitude that is going to make their lives difficult for the forseeable future.
Palin’s opposition is Big Media, who hate her, not Obama nor any other single person. The majority of voters, who are morons, let’s face it, develop their opinions from television. She has to conquer that forum before she can get anywhere.
It’s not that she lacks the ideas...she just doesn’t have the rap down, if I can use a Sixties expression...
/sorry
//I AM an historian, after all...
She is center stage on the national scene exactly because she has proven all she needs to.
She is the only true conservative leader on the scene that isn't strapped to the microphone of the world's most popular radio program.
Progressives don't do what Sarah Palin does day in and day out. She's the only demonstrable conservative that holds an executive office presently.
Ah, so she's brilliant and charismatic because those who you yourself have labeled liberal loons say so? It's amazing how much credit you're willing to give them when it suits you. If it weren't so pathetic and downright sad, it would be funny.
She is visibly in command of that 'forum' at present. She dismantled David Letterman (or possibly more correctly helped him do it to himself) with just three sentences. Should she allow herself to descend to the level of pop culture, she'll be no more than a female Huckabee.
