Whne my kids were born, the delivering doctor’s bill was $200 and hospital bills weren’t much more.
What happened?
A boom-time post WW-II America led to an oversupply of lawyers.
Added to that, an undersupply of common-sense Americans led to more lawyers, more lawsuits, higher-price malpractice insurance, unsecure medical students switching over to law school — more lawyers and fewer doctors.
What is needed? Laws to protect medical practicioners from lawyers (malpractice suits), and ... fewer lawyers.
You just pointed at the 800 pound gorilla in the room. That same gorilla is also in every room concerned with any issue dividing/destroying this country. Lawyers are the only ones that make money by both making chaos and then trying to control the chaos with more Laws.
Oh and they also spend oodles of money lobbying elected lawyers to keep it that way.
