Obama might make nice about the speech but it is really DOA. He did not end settlements. Further, he calls for capitulation from Arabs and Palestinians—a non-militarized, unarmed Palestine while Israel retains is military, including nuclear weapons. Who’s to guarantee Palestinian soveriegnty against Israeli action?
Unfortunately, I think that this is simply an attempt to play for time and not an honest readiness to negotiate and settle. Israel loses by this.

Nope, you are wrong. Israel gains by it. Palestinians don't need to be armed. Israelis will not attack them if they aren't shooting missiles into Israel. This will not hurt Israel but will help them. The main statement was to force the muslims to recognize Israel as a legal Jewish state, the muslims won't agree to that, neither will they agree to be disarmed. Therefore they are not ready for peace and since they are the real instigators of war and death in the middle east the onus is on them.
Anyone who thinks Israel attacks without provocation has to be a muslim or a complete fool.

And how does one negotiate with a partner who refuses to recognize your right to exist? At this very minute Palestinians are teaching, at home and in their schools and institutions, their children to hate. That’s hardly a formula for peace.

Has Israel invaded Jordan or retaken Gaza? No? Then reasses your position ion the face of reality.
