I believe that it was $7.00 dollars a carton (I should know, my generic cigarettes went from 6.99 to 13.99 a carton (yes, I am a cheap bastard). This is just outrageous! If I can find an underground seller, you bet that I will be there. Of course if I notified you, we would both be in jail - heh...
Went to my Tobacconist for cigars other day. Guy ahead of me plunks down *2* cartons of cigarettes. $100!!!!!!!
I gasped, said when I first started smoking cigs (~'68, quit 20 years ago) I'd get *3* packs of Benson & Hedges for a buck.
There was a scene in Goodfellows, the goons knocked off a semi carrying cigs and the boyz were in the street selling cartons outa the trunk of a car.
