Augusto Pinochet--Some Perspective
By Humberto Fontova
Tuesday, June 9, 2009
To read the mainstream media youd think that in Sept. 1973 Augusto Pinochets villainous henchmen, while twirling their pointy black mustaches and snickering maliciously, overthrew a Chilean president (Salvador Allende) somewhere on the order of Jimmy Carter. Then these ghouls lined up 3,000 harmless sociology professors and innocent leftist parliamentarians and shot themfor the sheer heck of it.
The real story, as you might imagine, is a tad more complicateddespite the media and academias Black Legend regarding Chile.

Pinochet is the hero of Chile. A fine man
Every once in a while the trash needs to be taken out.
Due to the fact that this important perspective is often overlooked or bypassed -dare I say- censored by the mainstream press: it has often been easy to vilify him without taking into consideration of the proper context.
One recent leftist claimed that Pinochet ordered or killed 30,000 Chileans after the coup. Being a product of the US education system, this leftist obviously can’t tell the difference between 3,000 and 30,000.
The real point is that most of the Chilean Communist Party and Socialist Party leaders were alive and allowed to go into exile in East German, Cuba, etc. Allende’s daughter Beatrice was married to a senior Cuban secret police/DGI official (and mysteriously committed suicide a few years later).
Can’t remember any communist regime letting their captives go like that. They just killed them en mass.
Pinochet was no angel but he was not the mass murderer the Left has portrayed him as. That would actually apply to Castro, his brother Raul, and Che Guevera.
Chile was full of commie trash.
And based on what he accomplished, he should also be a hero of all that is universal about our own experiment in liberty.
We need the General today in MANY countries... including ours. :-\
twould make a fine t-shirt...
And a hero of mine.
WOW!! I want one.. Is that a real t-shirt? Available somewhere?
Click on the pic.
Hot damn! Thanks.
Both Pinochet and Franco saved their respective countries, and yet they get no appreciation from the following generations who benefitted from what they did.
Wait, Nixon was president in 1973, not Carter.
