Some people beg for a World Economic War.

They just love it when everyone is miserable.

We do basically the same thing.

We're empty nesters. I drive the cycle on any day that I can safely do so.
With a good pair of insulated underwear, gloves, thick scarf, and a good coat I can even ride at 38 degrees semi-comfortably.

If the price of gas does rise dramitically I can even ride in the rain. A good set of rain duds is a brand called "Frog Toggs".
They're light, breathable, and will roll up into a small package.

We’ve been through this already, and the idea that oil is going to $200 or above has been proven to be laughable.

The world economy cannot run on $200-250 oil. It can’t even run on $150 oil. If oil spikes again, the economy will collapse even further.

Probably $70-90 is tolerable. Any more than that is probably not sustainable.

Is it dangerous to ride in the rain, Joe?
I want to save money but I want him alive too! ;-).

I’m going to look into the “Frog Toggs”. If he likes them, he gets them!

Thanks - changed it a couple of weeks ago, and I think it fits.

Not as long as you take the proper precautions and have a good set of tires.
You can't corner as fast, you can't stop as fast, you probably need a face shield on the helmet to keep the rain out of your eyes (use a good anti-fog on the face sheild), and remember that other drivers in four wheeled vehicles have the same issues with rain that you do.
I've ridden in the rain many times, HARD rain, thunderstorms, etc and you just need to be careful. Slow down and don't take chances.

Remember, when you ride, in ANY weather, you should ride like you are invisible to other driver while at the same time ride like every other driver is a raving luinatic out to run you down.
I call it riding with your head on a swivel.

I’m going to pass that along to him!

I’m a chicken and won’t get on the thing. He wants to take the girls riding and I said to wait until they are each 14.

I have to say, I’m pretty paranoid. THEN we had an accident on the news this morning. Motorcyclist hit a boat on the highway. How often does that happen? LOL!

I cant disagree with you.

But since Oil is not and shall not ever be allowed to be traded in a free market environment, then we should manipulate it to the advantage of our nation.

Is more regulated than Alcoholic beverages and prescription drugs.

You’ll need two side cars.

I have real cars for moving 5 at a time. The bikes are for one at a time or two in exceptional cases.

Given the financial train wreck this year, I may even pass on a Father's Day card. I'm sticking to bare requirements. When/if my income returns to current levels, we'll have disposable income for non-essentials again.

The bike to work will save wear and tear on the truck...not to mention saving gas and being a more enjoyable manner of transport. The truck will still be necessary for bad weather and grocery runs.

We are saving the truck for pulling our camper.
Which of course may be pulling it down to TX or OK when the poo hits the fan.

You can waste gas all you want with your "real" cars. My family and I love Gaia and are lowering our carbon footprint.

If you think the planet can survive all your fossil fuel usage you are wrong.

I suggest trying the following for you and all of us if Gaia is going to survive the next century:
