Beneficial iterations are what drives evolution. That is the just-so story. They are beneficial because they were passed on(circular argument). Genetic research is demonstrating the computing cell, and not a cell which is a "slave" to accidental mutations and an external uncontrollable environment.

That is the just-so story. Science is all about "just so" stories. They are considered valid evidence "just so" long as there is experimental evidence to back up the story.
