Yes, it does. I saw somewhere that there are two debris fields about 35-40 miles apart. That pattern suggests the possibility of two aircraft and thus a mid-air collision.

Has anyone heard if ships are at the debris fields yet?

I think it suggests a single plane coming apart at altitude and the debris spreading over a huge area as it falls. Lightening might POSSIBLY cause electrical failure, but not catastrophic failure of the entire craft.....

If there was a mid-air collision, certainly the families of the passengers on the other plane may have made some phone calls to find out why it hasn't arrived yet.

Two aircraft? I had not heard of that possibility. If the plane broke in two (for whatever reason) could you still get 2 debris fields that far apart? Wish I had paid more attention in physics...
