Although he sort of admitted it earlier, MSNBC President Phil Griffin seems to have problems stating the obvious: that his network has made a concious decision to feature primarily leftwing hosts (Joe Scarborough being the sole exception in the lineup). Griffin makes yet another stab, in an interview with Rory O'Connor of the Huffington post, at explaining why MSNBC went hard left and the resulting explanation is so painfully tortuous as to be comical:
"The answer is complicated...but simple at same time," Griffin responds. "The network has evolved a lot in the past few years. We went from doing a little bit of everything to doing lots of politics under Keith from 2003-05. We first began to get traction after the Iraq war started, after 'Mission Accomplished.' Then, more and more, politics led the way. When we did well with it in the 2006 elections, we made a decision to become 'the place for politics,' as the late Tim Russert dubbed us - and all of a sudden began to take off a little."
Griffin says that both Olbermann and fellow MSNBC stalwart Chris Mathews "both had a strong point of view about the war -- but our strategy then was simply to hire smart people, allow them to have a point of view, and to be authentic. At the same time, we moved even further toward politics and away from trying to be 'all things to all people.'"

So what happens when the Obama kool-aid runs out and everyone is off the bandwagon? Is MSNBC going to turn hard back to the middle or are they going to support their candidate till the end?
Watching their numbers fall and being overwhelming on Obama’s side of the ring, this should be comical watching them tumble when Obama will already be rolling down the hill!
What ratings planet is he talking about?
Sounds like that old Jell-o ad.
We first began to get traction after the Iraq war started, after 'Mission Accomplished.'
They got traction twisting the news.
He is no exception.
Just admit that MSNBC is the official Ministry of Propaganda for the Obama administration and will report whatever is dictated by Rahm Emmanuael in their weekly conference call.
BINGO!
MSNBC = GE.
Lefties are greenie (Green is the new Red after all)
GE wants to profit from all the ‘green’ initiaves from the left.
Pretty easy to connect the dots.....
Forgot - a bit of trivia
- the little 3 tone audio logo used by NBC?
the musical notes are G E C (General ELectic Corp) - a bit a trivia from an old school radio fan.
That's it right there. They "did well" by twisting the Mark Foley story into an indictment of the GOP, and drove the DNC plan for the "culture of corruption" that swept Democrats back in control.
However, it's killing their network. It will a Pyrrhic victory for them.
BTW, since I don't watch them, I don't know if they ever reported on how Foley's replacement was having two simultaneous affairs during the campaign, using campaign funds, while running on a platform of "family values." Where Foley was accused of messaging (but not touching) the Pages, Tim Mahoney was actually in two adulterous affairs, and paid off his mistresses with campaign funds. So, who was the more corrupt?

I have noticed that every time Joe Scarborough criticizes Obama, first he brings up “George Bush” and goes after him and then is free to go after Obama. It must be in his contract.
Hey, watch that “go South” thing! ;)
Tucker Carlson was quoted a few days ago as saying the reason he left MSNBC is that there just "wasn't a place for him" there anymore. As a network, you've moved way too far to the left if you can't find room for a "conservative" like Tucker Carlson.
At this rate, Chris Matthews will have to leave sometime next year because he's too "centrist".
In short he’s saying “I don’t know - it just happened that way”. So either he’s a liar or a retard - take your pick. Of course he could be both :)
