MillerCoors has recalled a batch of Coors Light in the Southeastern United States after taste tests at the company's Georgia brewery found the beer to be subpar.
MillerCoors, which will begin moving into its new Chicago headquarters this month, last week began pulling the beer from its distribution system and from retailers. "We sampled it and realized it wasn't up to standards," said Pete Marino, a spokesman for MillerCoors.
He didn't immediately know how much beer was recalled, or if the recall had been completed. But the batch involved only Coors Light brewed at the firm's Albany, Ga., brewery.
MillerCoors is a joint venture of the U.S. operations of SAB Miller and Molson Coors Brewing Co. The company chose Chicago as its headquarters soon after it was created last year.

Sadly, the brewery is still there but closed in 2003 - the water rights have since been condemned by the cities of Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater. Local urban legend used to be if you found a label on a bottle of Oly with four dots on the back and talked your girlfriend into signing it, you had it made in the shade, so to speak.
Regular Coors is delicious, mother’s milk. Coors Light is like having sex in a canoe: “It’s Fu$*in’ Near Water!”
just what the heck is a banquet beer anyway?
I’m a Guiness gal myself.
Condemn water rights? You mean those cities decided to snitch the water instead of the brewery using it?
I used to kid an AF buddy of mine who went to school at CU Boulder about his love of Coors. I told him over and over that the reason it tasted like cold horse piss was that the brewery in Golden was just downstream from a large horse ranch. That would always fire him up.
The miners started calling it that. Ask Sam Elliot - he does the commercials and explains it.
One of those eminent domain things, I guess. Since the brewery was closed, they must have figured their case was strong enough for condemnation and it worked. Plenty of micro-brews to make up for it, though.
Thats All-benny, GA.
That's true. Frankly, I haven't missed Olympia. Now, Falstaff......

Sometimes, the right person posts a story.
This is one of those times.
A true national emergency and people make jokes. Scary.
Did tests of the Coors light reveal that the horse had diabetes or did someone discover a slight beer taste in the water??
