“...Trabant, Iclci, GAZ, YUGO, ZAPOROZHETS, GM
One of these is now just like the others...”
DMV, Post Office, IRS....and people want the government to take care of their “most precious” thing in life...their Health care?
I can see it now...Mr Consumer: “My GM’s transmission just went and it’s under warranty...GM Employee: “So what? You’re gonna’ wait like everyone else...we’ll get your vehicle in the shop in 6-8 months...goodbye...”
The DMV will now administer GM warranties. And handle all of your healthcare benefits. Aint we got fun!?
I think I’ll stick with Japanese cars (made in North America, though). Companies that not only honor their warranties, but regularly go beyond the stated terms of those warranties in the name of customer satisfaction. Yeah, even the Japanese sometimes drop the ball when designing things - for example the ‘03 and ‘04 Honda Accord transmission failures, but they replaced all those transmissions, and not just with more of the same ones that were bound to fail (hello, Chrysler minivan) but after determining the cause of the problem and redesigning to solve it.
