Graphic on the latest situation in the conflict in northwestern Pakistan. Pakistan reported heavy clashes Monday on the outskirts of a key Taliban stronghold as troops closed in on militants in the Swat valley, where residents spoke of fear and deprivation. (AFP)

Cadets in only four of the 29 buses in the convoy were kidnapped near Marwat Canal at the Baka Khel police station. Likely only 60-70 cadets.

The Talibs also attacked the Army Public School and College up in Hangu on Sunday, killed the administration officer, injured another employee, and abducted three persons including two policemen.

Likely they are taking hostages in anticipation of a PakMil push into N and S Waziristan.

Correction, 3 separate ops here. 33 vehicles were stopped by the Taliban near Bannu, 300+ students and teachers involved. 4 buses captured near Baka Khel and the attack in Hangu.

this has been Jihadi SOP since the 7th. century. Conquer an area, grab all the young boys and take them away to be schooled in how to become good little Jihadis.

Geez, never mind the correction, my original post was correct but it was 80 students not the 60-70 I reported. The media had it all wrong, I got tripped up by the false media report that the hijacking took place in Bannu, looked like another op, it wasn’t.
