Docs tell 83-year-old Swede she's 'too old' for treatment

Wesley J. Smith: Swedish Case of Age Discrimination in Health Care A Warning About Obamacare

Ezekiel Emanuel, one of President Obama’s premier health care advisers–and the brother of his chief of staff–insists that rationing based on age isn’t invidious discrimination. Oh no? Check out this story from Sweden that illustrates how wrong he is. From the story:

An 83-year-old woman from Östergötland in southern Sweden was forced to pay for back surgery out of her own pocket after doctors at her local public hospital told her she was too old for the treatment. “Without the operation, I might have lived another five years in incredible pain. But what kind of life is that?” Marianne Skogh told the Östgöta Correspondenten newspaper.

Skogh has suffered from pain and numbness in her legs since 2004. After waiting for more than a year to see a specialist in the public health system [my emphasis], Skogh was finally told that the pain was likely to do problems in her back. Doctors told her she suffered from spinal stenosis, a disease that involves a narrowing of one or more areas in the back. The narrowing puts pressure on the spinal cord or on the nerves that branch out from the compressed areas, often causing cramping, pain or numbness. But despite the lengthy wait for the diagnosis, Skogh was then told that, even though the ailment was treatable [my emphasis, again], she was too old for the surgery.

It wasn’t that she was too frail to handle the surgery–obviously–it was because they thought she was too old to be worth the expended resources. In other words, she was denied optimal care by her own doctor who placed his or her loyalty to “society” over the medical needs of his own patients.

If this is how you think we should treat our senior citizens who have given their country so much over so many years–not to mention people with serious disabilities, expensive chronic and terminal illnesses, etc.–you will support Obamacare. If not, you won’t.

Ezekiel Emanuel, Rahn Emanuel’s brother, said medical care should only be for the NONdisabled, and he is one of Obama’s top “health” advisors.

What will happen to my little niece who has cerebral palsy, and my brother’s friend, who is in his 50’s and has Parkinson’s.

This is a fantastic explanation of what abortion has done to the economy!

Thread by victim soul.

Of Diapers and Deficits

Earlier this year, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for the government's economic stimulus package to include a healthy increase in spending for what she called “family planning.” (If you didn't already know, “family planning” is generally code for abortion.) Pelosi said that this would save state and federal governments the cost of having to pay for the health care and education of poor children. Of course, it's pretty hard to argue with that sort of logic. After all, dead children are less expensive to care for than live children.

In any event, Pelosi's remarks came on the heels of Barak Obama signing an executive order allowing money taken out of the paychecks of American workers to be used for abortions in foreign countries! In other words, the Obama administration’s position is that we are running out of money to take care of our own children but we have enough to pay for the executions of other people's children. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood (America's number one abortion profiteer) continues to be given approximately one million dollars a day in taxpayer funding and there are calls within our government for that amount to be doubled.

So let's recap. In last year's presidential campaign, Obama labels babies a “punishment” and, now, one of his co-degenerates is claiming that babies contribute to our country’s financial woes. In this environment, it is probably no coincidence that the abortion lobby is ratcheting up its rhetoric that the faltering economy is a justification for abortion. The sense of evil is palpable when you hear them almost gleefully predict that the abortion rate is going to increase as women rely on it to compensate for bad economic conditions.

But the question is, are babies really to blame for our economic collapse? And the answer is that they are.

Let me explain. It has long been known that as consumers approach retirement they spend less money. The two areas where this is felt the most is in the sales of cars and houses – the two industries that form the backbone of the American economy. The good news has always been that, as older people began to buy less they were replaced by younger consumers who bought more. It was a cycle that was repeated from one generation to the next. But here’s the problem we face today. The American baby-boomer is the wealthiest generation of people in the history of the world and they spent money like there was no tomorrow. In that process, they created an economy that was (a) the envy of the world and (b) completely dependant on that level of spending in order to survive.

While doing this, however, they aborted more than one-fourth of the next generation of consumers. This guaranteed that, once the baby-boomers started reaching retirement, the spending frenzy of the last forty years would be over. And now, that is precisely what has happened. In 2008, baby-boomers began reaching retirement age, the sales of cars and houses plummeted and that put the entire economy into a tailspin. Further, we are just at the very beginning of this phenomenon. By any realistic measure, there is a financial tsunami rolling toward the United States that will make our current environment seem like “the good ole’ days.” From now until 2026, baby-boomers are going to reach retirement age at the rate of 10,000 a day! And even if we learn how to live with less consumer spending, the effect of that is going to bankrupt our social services infrastructure. . .

The abortionists are upset that there isn't a death chamber on every corner.

Number of Abortion Centers Nationwide Falling, Pro-Abortion Legal Group Says

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A pro-abortion legal group that represents abortion businesses in lawsuits against pro-life laws in almost every state in the nation says the number of abortion centers nationwide is falling. The figures come as Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business, increases its number of abortion facilities.

The Center for Reproductive Rights released the results of a study it conducted saying the number of abortion businesses and abortion practitioners has decreased by 25 percent since the 1990s.

CRR indicates some states, such as Mississippi and North Dakota, have only one abortion facility while Missouri has three. Alabama has seven while Texas has 40 abortion centers across the state.

The pro-abortion group says the proliferation of state legislation limiting abortions, with laws such as parental involvement, informed consent and waiting periods, has lowered the number of abortion centers.

“The result is not just endangerment and marginalization of abortion providers, but a denial of rights for the one in three American women who will seek an abortion in their lifetimes," CRR president Nancy Northup said.

"The number of abortion providers in the United States fell by 25% just between 1992 and 2005. Without providers, the right to abortion is meaningless," she added.

According to CRR, nationwide 87 percent of counties in the country have no abortion facility and nearly 25 percent of women do not have one within 50 miles of where they live. . .

Lawmaker who penned Fla's Death with Dignity law so Terri Schiavo could be murdered is d e a d. His poor dogs' ashes will be interred w/him at Noles U. Jim King wrote the law to kill Terri, voted against Terri, wrote a law to be interred with his dogs and also a law to be interred at a state university.

Sen. Jim King (rino) was certainly all over death.

He didn't look like Barack Obama but Jim King was pro-abort and pro-euthanasia.

A lawmaker with a poison pen and a big appetite for lap dances, barb-b-q and a recipient of the Hospice Hall of Fame aware has departed.I do not call for violence against death cultists nor do I honor their passing. 1. Cranford: dead 2. Tiller: dead 3. Jim King: dead

This is what Obamacare will bring to America.

Cap and trade will break us. Obamacare will forsake us.

CHOLESTEROL checks only once in five years. That will kill millions of Americans right there. Pass that on.
