Yes they will, because it has become a benign word taught for decades in the schools and universities that it a fair and just government rule. The conservative leaders who are speaking out and calling the administration socialists, need to be very specific and educate the public in detail as to what socialism really is about and what they will lose.
And that’s not dilettante Socialism, but Socialism in the sense of “Union Of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics”.
