In Massachusetts gay marriage was forced on the state by the supreme court. We organized and gather more signatures for a referendum than any other in the history of our state.

The official number of citizens who signed were staggering and did not include many thousands of signatures the state would not allow ( ones signature had to fit inside a tiny box, any part of the signature outside the box was disqualified).

The state had to ratify the signatures, a formality, according to our state constitution. Instead of doing so the damned Democrats of Beacon Hill just ignored it. We went through the process legally and were basically told to take a hike. Even our Gov. Patrick urged the politicians not to ratify this. Of course, later his own daughter of 18 or 19 comes out of the closet.
