["“Rush will not get his wish and Mr. Cheney was misinformed – I am still a Republican,” Powell said "]

Like Arlen Specter was a "Republican".

Powell on Slay the Nation:

"I have voted for the person i thought was best qualified at that time to lead the nation. Last year I thought it was President-now Barack Obama."

Did Powell really think Obama, community organizer and freshman senator, was more qualified than career naval officer, two-term representative, four-term senator, and renowned for working across the aisle, McCain? On what basis?

Rush nailed Powell on this, when he points out the "moderates", in McCain, got just the candidate they always wanted.

There was no explainable reason for Powell to endorse Obama except for Obama's race. Powell's statement yesterday goes against his earlier story, which was he supported McCain until he picked Palin. Basically his argument was not that Obama was qualified, but that McCain was disqualified. Now he has changed his story.

The leftist media will never, ever, drill down in an interview on this to expose the reasons. They will always take a statement from someone like Powell at face value. There is never, ever, a follow-up "why" question.

Powell violated Reagan's 11th Commandment, which called to support the party's nominees, even if you disagree with them. Like a family, you work out your differences in private, but present a unified front in public, once the primaries were over.

I would love to be a fly on the wall while Norman Schwarzkopf was calmly expressing his opinion of Powell and his Republican bona fides.

Yes Powell was Sec of State but he was never a Republican only a RINO!

The RINO's got exactly what they wanted in John McCain last election.

It would have been one thing if Powell had quietly sent a letter endorsing Obama, but he made a point of getting on stage with Obama and rubbing it in everybody’s faces.

Exactly.

The so called RINOs in the party are actually Rat moles, on a mission to make and keep the GOP to be the Washington Generals or Shamrocks to engage in mock elections with the Rat Harlem Globetrotters.

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Krusty went flat busted because he bet everything on the Washington Generals... "I thought they were due for one!!"

It’s over for Colon Bowel:

If he has to come out and defend his “Republicaness” then it becomes laughable.

I never thought he was particularly intelligent and this proves it.

I am still a Republican

Yeah, when did you stop beating your wife?

At the very best you're a "double agent". Are you sure you're even an American?

Colon Bowel, you're full of it.

Well, either Powell supported Obama because they’re both black, which means he’s a racist, or supported him because he supports his policies, which means he’s not a Republican.

You've got it. It isn't any more complicated than that.

Powel knows EXACTLY what he is saying.

He is implying the conservatives are a narrow niche.

He is playing corporate politics.

we need to define powel as a TINY NICHE.

The debate is how to make the republican party the definition of the CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY of the United States.

Powel is of the beltway and for the beltway.

beware colin powel is a backstabber.

Powell voted for the three Republicans who went out of their way to promote him (Reagan, Bush, and Bush) but when there was nothing in it for him personally he ALWAYS went with the liberals (Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and Obama). The man is an opportunist with liberal leanings.

You nailed it. Powell is either a liberal democrat......a racist......or both. I'm gonna go with the last choice.

Get lost Powell. When I saw him at the UN prior to going into Iraq, that he was not to be trusted.

Apparently so. In any case, I’m enjoying watching the RINO moderates having to finally take their masks off. Makes my argument that the RINO-led GOP is nothing more than a demrat controlled organization easier to defend.

The GOP has not really been a credible opposition party to the Demrat Party since Reagan. There is no second oppostion party in America today. It remains to be seen whether constitutionalists (like me) can regain control of the GOP or be forced to organize a new (second) opposition party.

Oh, and to those of you who insist that a new party cannot be formed and win—eventually—please explain how the communists have succeeded in coopting the Demrat and Pubbie Parties, the country’s public schools, the media, Christian and Jewish faiths and the unions? I would never have thought that possible, let alone the election of a communist for president.

Anything can be achieved by planning, determination and hard work. That’s how the commies pulled off their coup.

And too many of us sat on our fat butts and paid no attention. We were too busy being super moms, super dads and/or whatever, Too many of us did and are out-sourcing the rearing of our children to the public schools system. Apparently we’re even too busy to raise our own kids.
