I'd rather have "the list" so large that it scares the crap out of anyone who wants to take us on.

Heck, we're all on it anyway, if we have been the least bit activist about our rights, or ever decried the crap the Government has pulled. We are 'dissidents', and we are armed, 'nuff said.

As for the ones who would hide under the bed with the dust kittens, they should expect no kinder, gentler treatment. If anyone gets dragged to the camps, they'll go, too, only in shame that just having made their voice heard might have made the difference.

Sure, some people think that by "compromising" they can avoid being branded, but in for a penny, and in for a pound. (The alphabet soup agency guys will still trash your place and grill you about the 'off the books' weapons you are sure to have...)

I'm well enough known among the local constabulary, and have held a CCW permit for over 10 years, NRA for 20, etc. I have filled out enough 4473s to come up on the screen.

And anyone who has filled out one will be on there sooner or later.

There is no way to stay off the radar without some really careful moves, and most people have already got their name on 'the list' before they even think about staying off it.

Interesting that you should say that. If I were O's enforcers, I would start out with voter registrations. All non-Dems go into the pool. Then start sub categorizing via other red flags that are a matter of public record. Membership in organizations like the NRA, any sort of conservative interest group or lobbying group, Christian related organizations, any sort of connection that implies a resistance to "GroupThink".

I would keep records of all phone call numbers to Dem congressman and the WH. Ditto for any written correspondence to same. Pretty easy to create a formidable relational database.

Crawl the web, take legal action against conservative online groups that forces them to give me any and all personal info on members and posters. Ex: all the CC records from the Freepathon. You donate $10 to FR and you are marked.

It is basically impossible to have ever expressed an opinion critical of liberalism that won't implicate you in a way that I can't find.

And there will always be the low tech tried and true tactic of rewarding our liberal neighbors and coworkers for spying on us and reporting us. Read some of the lib sites, these people are salivating at the possibility of reporting on others and seeing them sent off for "re-education".

Once it begins in earnest, it will be a dam breaking.

That's a great post, Smokin' Joe. I'm keeping it in my FReeper Quotes file.

Stay safe.
