Do you think that the CZ-52 might be "too much" for a woman who is not a regular shooter, has relativley small hands with short fingers, and has heretofore only fired .22 pistols (specifically Colt Woodsman and S&W 422, the latter is a pretty light alloy framed gun.)

If so, or even if not, what do you think of the CZ-82 or Polish P64, both in 9x18?

If I didn't like it so much, I'd just give her my M-1 Carbine. I just bought 1,000 rounds for it, and would like to shoot some of 'em.

I think she would find the carbine more pleasant. The CZ-52 round is long, and so is the grip, so I’m not sure how her short hands would do. I don’t find the recoil a problem, unless I don’t have hearing protection on. It’s a LOUD pistol/caliber combo.

The CZ vzor82 is the very best Makarov pistol, bar none. It has the best DA trigger I have EVER seen, ambi safety, hicap mag, and it just fits.

The only downside is the fine painted finish. I can live with that.
