Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is trying to clarify exactly what he meant when he said last night "I don't draw that conclusion" when he was discussing Speaker Nancy Pelosi's comments about the CIA misleading Congress.
Hoyer sent POLITICO a statement today clarifying that he believes Pelosi, trying to tamp down the notion that there's any space between himself and the speaker on this issue.
I have known Speaker Pelosi for more than 45 years, and I believe her," Hoyer said. "The Republicans focus on what she knew and when is a political distraction meant to divert attention from the question of whether the Bush Administration allowed torture to be used.
