That’s a great policy—if you’re an effective political leader, we don’t want you running for office.

Sure explains a lot of whom we’ve got in office!

(And no, Rush and Mark shouldn’t run for office—as WFB never should have. Nor should Miss Coulter. Those who are good raising the controversial points professionally, should continue to do so.)

and to add, in a sea of 300million plus we both named less than 10 and in that group I include Liz for your other persons, cited reasons.

It’s not my criteria as you suggest, just my opinion of the resourse that is Liz Cheney

Three blood-thirsty, mass-murdering savages waterboarded is the number I have always heard, and I have not heard anybody dispute that number. And they all survived the procedure..

Contrast that to how many babies have been aborted, how many have survived the procedure, and what happened to them.

And, when the discussion turns to rendition, we have to go back and find out how many terror suspects were processed through rendition when Bill Clinton was President. Let's not forget that more Americans died in combat in Vietnam while Lyndon Johnson was President than while Richard Nixon was President. An inconvenient truth that doesn't come up very often.

Translation: Hiding and hoping it will all go away.

Due to the way these shows run in south Florida, and somewhat from inertia, my lovely wife and I start watching 'Meet the Press' at 10, and then stay on that station for Chris Matthews show for the Democrat talking points.

I should say that I'm a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, while my wife has always been an 'independent'. (I should note she caught BDS in 2005 as a result of Bush/Cheney's politically stupid choice of VA Secretaries; I'm a 'Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veteran' and was royally screwed by their support of the 'Boots on the Ground' policy. My better half tends conservative, but takes things like that VERY personally!) But I digress...

MTP was a snoozer, Steel spent more time dancing through the minefield that making points, IMHO. What caught my attention was that of the 60 minutes the show ran, they spent less than 2 or 3 on Pelosi's disaster. BTW, was it just me, or is Peggy Noonan looking more and more like she's on some kind of pain-killers?

Chris Matthews spent essentially NO time on it; instead he spent the whole show complaining about how Dick Cheney was STILL controlling the levers of the government, months after leaving office. (Apparently, he and his cohorts disapprove.)

My point here is that, at least on NBC, after Speaker Nancy Pelosi basically poured gasoline over her head and set fire to herself on national TV, they have decided to rapidly turn her into an 'un-person' 'a la Trotsky. At this point, the only thing I wonder is if Panetta has the stones to put out the video of the briefing Nancy can't remember the details of ... I mean, you KNOW they have it stashed somewhere.

I was really expecting more 'leaks' by now.

Sigh...

Steele does that most of the time. It’s as though he’s afraid of offending any Republican, no matter how far left they are.

He seems to do it more than he needs to. Not being offensive or losing voters is one thing; watering down the message is another.

I think of the others as delightfully inflammatory but not really suited for office, whereas Liz is refreshingly a rarely muscular (or to use the preferred term for Mrs. Obama’s arms, ‘toned’) Republican. I’d love her to help show other Republican office-holders how it is done.

(And yes, we are united in complimenting her highly.)

Liz would be a great campaign chairman for Sarah Palin. Better yet, run on the ticket with her.

Health care will be no different from budget care, car care, tarp care, border care, you name the care. It's all about which votes we can buy with someone else’s money. That's it. What kind of mileage can they get for each issue. If something happens to work in the meantime it's a miracle.

Reduction in cost equals reductions in reimbursement to health care providers.

Which then means reduction in services.

Sucks to be sick under Dem health care, huh?

My recommendation has always been to limit health insurance to catastrophic coverage. Imagine the fix we would be in with our auto insurance if every oil and filter change was paid via insurance. Auto insurance would be unaffordable. Try to picture going to the grocery store, and buying a week's or a month's worth of food, with no idea of the cost until they send you a bill a few weeks later.

We are in that position now with health care, with most every doctor visit, hospital stay, lab test and prescription filed to an insurance company, rather than patients and providers discussing health care costs together. Far too many physicians don't know what is charged for their services, and fewer know the costs of the ancillary tests they order. Hospitals are worse.

I am also in favor of sliding scale fees for services. Nobody should get free health care, and everyone shouldn't have to pay inflated fees for the deadbeats.

Absolutely correct Bernard!

The double standard is alive and well on most any issue.

Excellent points here!

As you stated the rats are still setting and then trying to control the agenda. If we want to win we have to change as much of that as we can. Rush, talk radio is a start.

I guess bottom line its always going to work better through free enterprise than govt. sponsored or single payer. There is so much fraud now in South Fla. I can only imagine the endless abuses under a single payer, the govt. No one could ever imagine the overall costs.

Too bad there is not a system that rewards those keeping costs down rather than pump them up for a bigger pay check from the insurance provider.

How big a cost are needles tests and malpractice insurance alone? We have doctors who were being charged 100,000 per year malpractice insurance to deliver babies, most opted out, some quit.
