Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will refuse on his trip to Washington to back the formation of a Palestinian state, an MP close to the premier said on Saturday, according to national radio. Netanyahu "will not make a commitment to Washington on the creation of a Palestinian state which would undoubtedly become a 'Hamastan'," Ophir Akunis from Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party was quoted as saying, referring to the Islamic movement Hamas which controls the Gaza Strip and favours armed struggle against Israel.
The hawkish prime minister is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sunday ahead of his maiden meeting with US President Barack Obama since the two men took office this year.
The key meeting takes place against a backdrop of disagreements over the Middle East conflict and how to deal with Iran's nuclear programme.
While Netanyahu has repeatedly refused to endorse the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state, Obama is insisting on a "two-state solution" to solve the Israeli-Palestinian crisis."
Obama also wants the new Israeli government to halt new building work in Jewish settlements on the occupied West Bank but Netanyahu has said he wants to expand existing settlements.

The Gazans would be properly part of Egypt. Those in Judea and Samaria are Jordanians. they are eligible to vote ib Jordan’s parlimentary elections..Begin tried to give gaza back to Egypt, but Anwar Sadat said “NOT ON YOUR LIFE”! Maybe the Turks should rule over them. After all, they know what they would be dealing with and how to handle their excesses. Tell this last bit to an “Palestinian” and watch his eyes go wide as saucers; and they can’t yell “infidel”!
You’re talking about in the past they were part of those countries. It’s not true now. It hasn’t been true for a very long time now.
The areas of Samaria, Judea, and Gaza are all in the sovereign “control” of Israel, but not in the nation of Israel, but only as occupied territories, until the status of the land is settled. So, at this point, they are “stateless”, not having a country that they can go to.
Those that were once of Jordan can’t live there any longer. Those who were once of Egypt can’t live there any longer.
I think these people may be the only “stateless” people in the world (perhaps there are others, but I don’t know about them...).
They wouldn’t be the first. I would rhetorically ask why their Muslinm Arab brethren have done very little for them in terms of humanitarian items. the other Arabs though, have helped with the bomb belts and such..
Only an act of God will solve this mess..
Well, the reason why the other Arab/Muslim countries have not “helped” those people, in terms of resettling them in their own lands (like Egypt or Jordan or Saudi Arabia or Syria or Lebanon) is that they do not want the refugee problem solved.
They know as long as the keep all those people in the place where they are at now, it will build and build and explode on Israel and they are hoping that the “explosion” will destroy Israel. In fact, they are counting on it.
There the demographic time-bomb in that Israel cannot take all these Arabs/Muslims into their own country (of Israel) or else all those Palestinians would take over the country (by their sheer vote, alone) and turn Israel into a Muslim country overnight.
And if Israel doesn’t take these Arabs/Muslims into Israel, then they have to give them their own state (the two-state solution; because Israel won’t be doing an “Apartheid State solution”). And then the other Arab/Muslim countries are hoping that Palestinian state will be a terrorist threat to Israel, big enough to destroy Israel eventually.
It’s all calculated to destroy Israel one way or the other, no matter what.
It has nothing to do with compassion, as Allah doesn’t have compassion, but is a war god. These Muslims are out to totally destroy Israel, no matter how long it takes.
Due to modern technology those numbers are subject to change without prior notice.
You said — Due to modern technology those numbers are subject to change without prior notice.
—
Well, I don’t know about that. That statement sounds like the Palestinians propaganda, when they say that Israel is using advanced technology to poison them, making a lot of Palestinians die of mysterious causes and thus reduce their numbers... LOL...
That sounds way too “tinfoil hat” to me...
They are still contemplating some sort of soft drink making them sterile..
You were quoting me saying — Actually, its the one-state solution thats suicide.
Then you said — LOL. Pull your head out fool.
—
Well, the Israelis aren’t stupid, which is why they’re not going for the one-state solution. They’re not about to add a few million Palestinians into the state of Israel and have them voting in the elections.
In fact, the Israelis have also resisted the “right of return” (where the Palestinians can return to where they lived in Israel before). Again, they are not about to “change the Jewish character” of Israel, just to have a “one-state solution”...
Fortunately, the Israelis are smarter than you, in this case... LOL...
Netanyahu has already agreed to abide by the Israeli agreements, in which they’ve agreed to a two-state solution. Netanyahu’s requirements are that the provisions are followed through on the Palestinian’s side and not just the Israelis only. It’s a demand, on his part, that they do *their part* in what they were supposed to follow through with — and not the rejection of a two-state solution.
And thus, one should not misinterpret Netanyahu’s demands as a rejection of the two-state solution. He has never rejected that and he has already stated, on the record, that he will abide by Israel’s previous agreements. Netanyahu is simply demanding the corresponding “follow-through” on behalf of the Palestinians.
A one-state solution would be the national suicide of the “Jewish character” of the state of Israel and there’s no way they are going to do that...
They are going to keep the Palestinians locked up in their own little piece of land and not in the state of Israel.
Nice argument... LOL...
Well, I think he should! He should suggest we give ‘em Rhode Island, f’rinstance....
How about all those states that approved gay marriages?
And why would Israel want to give Iran, who wants to exterminate the Jewish people completely off the face of the Earth and the backer of Palestinians and the two major enemies of Israel Hazzloba and Hamas, an inroad to place an army inside Jerusalem.
Dividing Jerusalem would destroy Israel and the Jewish people. The Palestinians are nothing more than jihad pawns for mullahs of Iran to continue their war on the Jewish people.
This was my original thought; turn gaza and the West Bank over to Turkey.
The Jews have brought this situation on themselves by being their usual Liberal selves. They should have kicked ALL the Muslims out of every area they conquered.
If they weren’t such Liberals, they could go to a one state solution and make Muslims ineligible to vote, and place large taxes on them like the Muslims do to other religions.
Israeli leftists in the Labour Party made that decision. the Israelis should have sent them packing..
You said — If they werent such Liberals, they could go to a one state solution and make Muslims ineligible to vote, and place large taxes on them like the Muslims do to other religions.
—
Well, that’s exactly the solution (i.e., mistake) that the Israelis are not about to commit. They know exactly what would happen next.
It’s already bad enough that Israel has to contend with the world pressure on them, as it is now. But, the minute Israel makes the nation an “Apartheid State” just like South Africa was — that’s the end of Israel at that point. They know that and they’re not about to commit that huge mistake of making Israel into an Apartheid State, just so the rest of the world can come down on them like it did with South Africa, and give the Palestinians more “fuel” for their propaganda....
You said — The Palestinians are nothing more than jihad pawns for mullahs of Iran to continue their war on the Jewish people.
—
No matter how true this is, the problem is that once Israel took over the land where these Palestinians were living at the time Israel won the war, Israel ended up *inheriting* all those Palestinians. That’s the problem that Israel has now and that’s why Israel will section those Palestinians off into their own state, so that those Palestinians can’t corrupt “Israel proper”...
You said — the Israelis should have sent them packing..
—
But, that’s the problem — “packing where?”... LOL...
There’s no place that will take them. And the Israelis aren’t going to dump them out into the ocean... :-)
So, you see..., Israel was (and *is*) *stuck with the Palestinians* — once they won the war and took over the lands where the Palestinians were living at the time.
