Democrats on the House intelligence committee said Thursday that CIA officers broke the law in 2002 if they told Nancy Pelosi then that they had not yet engaged in waterboarding.
"If they make a false report, absolutely it's illegal," said Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. "If they fail to make a report when they're obligated to that is also illegal — a violation of the National Security Act."
Said CIA Spokesman George Little: “It is not the policy of the CIA to mislead the United States Congress.”

The CIA is a law unto itself, with its own politics and agenda (as the plume affair clearly demonstrated), and I do not believe the democrats will come out of this with the upper hand.

I wish it were unlawful when politicians lie to the American public. If they put Nancy on the stand or have her interviewed by a Federal officer assigned to the "Truth Commission", I hope she gets Scooterized.
Democrats handled the 911 “truth commission” when Republican Rinos had the White House and the Congress and we all know how that turned out in the truth department. Everything was Bush's fault and Clinton's mob was perfectly innocent - really.
Even Sandy Berg with documents in his socks was not mentioned and not punished. Neither was the information he was trying to hide in those documents. I can see the Democrat's widows now panning for the cameras saying torture is evil and makes them cry. It is a terrible mistake for Republicans to permit the Democrats a untruth commission show trial.
The CIA has a loyal party member at the top who will not hesitate to toss some war on terror collaborators out for the wolves in order to protect the power of the party.
Unless the agents act outside the reach of their leader to turn it around on the Democrats, they are going to lose some people to this political show trial. The only documents that will be presented to the “truth” commission and that will be considered are the documents Obama’s man running the CIA decides to declassify with a lot of help from the Chicago thugs in the White House.
Those documents will show Bush and Cheney with a few bad agents as guilty as possible and Democrats totally innocent just like the 911 commission results.
You think these Rinos are going to protect anyone here? With McCain and twinkle toes and the stinkin’ sisters from New England leading the pack of wolves...the agents in the CIA are facing a united front of total power and total disloyalty to the US in the war on terror.
No Democrat/Rino show trials!
And more importantly, ALTERING any recording, tracelessly, to make it more authentic. You mess with spies and spymasters at your utter peril. . .
