Someone important appears not to be telling the truth about her knowledge of the CIA's use of enhanced interrogation techniques (EITs). That someone is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The political persecution of Bush administration officials she has been pushing may now ensnare her. Here's what we know. On Sept. 4, 2002, less than a year after 9/11, the CIA briefed Rep. Porter Goss, then House Intelligence Committee chairman, and Mrs. Pelosi, then the committee's ranking Democrat, on EITs including waterboarding. They were the first members of Congress to be informed. In December 2007, Mrs. Pelosi admitted that she attended the briefing, but she wouldn't comment for the record about precisely what she was told. At the time the Washington Post spoke with a "congressional source familiar with Pelosi's position on the matter" and summarized that person's comments this way: "The source said Pelosi recalls that techniques described by the CIA were still in the planning stage -- they had been designed and cleared with agency lawyers but not yet put in practice -- and acknowledged that Pelosi did not raise objections at the time." When questions were raised last month about these statements, Mrs. Pelosi insisted at a news conference that "We were not -- I repeat -- were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used." Mrs. Pelosi also claimed that the CIA "did not tell us they were using that, flat out. And any, any contention to the contrary is simply not true." She had earlier said on TV, "I can say flat-out, they never told us that these enhanced interrogations were being used." The Obama administration's CIA director, Leon Panetta, and Mr. Goss have both disputed Mrs. Pelosi's account.

The discovery that Nancy Pelosi is lying scum appears to be a revelation to some.
If her mouth is moving , she is lying. Good rule to remember.
I think Obama is letting her sink. He’s sick of her bossing him around.
HA!!
Make just as splendid an in yo' face bumper sticker as the *others* I've seen many times over the past 8 years.
It’s terrifying that crazy-eyes Pelosi is so close to the Presidency.
But then again, look who we have in there now...
Very interesting commentary from Dick Morris last night on O Reilly.
In essence saying, firstly that he is reserving his opinions of Mrs. Clinton until she’s had time to show her abilities, but when asked about the relationship between her and Obama, he said clearly that it’s a hostile one.
Bringing her into the administration takes her out of the loop of those criticizing Obama. It dampens Bill Clinton’s ability to raise money from foreign donors.
When Obama’s number tumble, “and they will cascade”, Morris predicts that Clinton will become a more vocal critic and in fact run against him in 2012.
Obama has actually put her into a small SOS capacity where he has given larger roles to others. She doesn’t over see the middle east or asia. Biden and others actually have more influence than she does. She’s not involved with Israel etc.
Very interesting, which makes me a little bit more impressed at Obama’s intuition about her.
Rove, the Magnificent.
Well done sir, her goose is self-basting as it is slowly cooked.
He would let his kids sink if the polls told him to do so
Am I the only one getting the impression that the Dems are making a big political mistake?
Setting aside Pelosi’s duplicity, one of the reasons that Obama got crossover votes was because his mantra of change was seen by many to indicate an end to politics by GOTCHA and WITCH-HUNT.
Of course, those fools were wrong, and the change O was talking about was a change in our free-market society - but that’s another story.
Just as the Repubs succeeded in disgracing Clinton, but went a bridge too far with the impeachment, so now are the Dems going a bridge too far with this prosecution nonsense.
If we are to make a comeback as a country, I don’t think it will be because of clear ideas and bold leadership on the part of the Republican Party - Lord knows we’ve seen too little of either. It will be because of the public’s disgust with these witch hunts.
Americans don’t like beating a dead horse - didn’t like it when we did it to Clinton, don’t like it now. In a way, I’m glad they’re doing it - the “prosecutions” won’t go anywhere, and we will gain a political advantage by them.
Bottom line, I think Americans are tired of the demonization of the Bush Administration. It’s gone - but the Dems seem to want to keep dredging in back up. It’s getting old.
Left untouched by the press whores is the $ 60M fortune Nancy and her scumbag husband have amassed.
Obama (and Rahm) want Steny Hoyer to be Speaker.
bump
Waterboard Congress? Great idea. We can go alphabetically or by seniority. Either one is fine with me.
