The Obama administration is weighing plans to detain some terror suspects on U.S. soil -- indefinitely and without trial -- as part of a plan to retool military commission trials that were conducted for prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

I personally have concerns about indefinite detention without some kind of due process, as IMO it is a slippery slope to eventually using it as a black hole for domestic political opponents - declare them to be terrorists and enemy combatants and make them disappear. So this is far more troubling than anything that happens in Club Gitmo, where the detainees are getting fat on fine halal cuisine.

But expect the left to largely keep focusing on Bush and not the larger issue.

That makes two of us. George Bush did more to acquire and establish the architecture of tyranny than most Republicans are willing to admit, especially with the creation of DHS. There were far better options for dealing with domestic Islam.
