Democrats: CIA is out to get us By: Manu Raju May 12, 2009 06:28 PM EST

Democrats charged Tuesday that the CIA has released documents about congressional briefings on harsh interrogation techniques in order to deflect attention and blame away from itself.

“I think there is so much embarrassment in some quarters [of the CIA] that people are going to try to shift some of the responsibility to others — that’s what I think,” said Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), who sat on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was briefed on interrogation techniques five times between 2006 and 2007.

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate, said he finds it “interesting” that a document detailing congressional briefings was released just as “some of the groups that have been responsible for these interrogation techniques were taking the most criticism.”

Asked whether the CIA was seeking political cover by releasing the documents, Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said: “Sure it is.”

The CIA has long been on the receiving end of harsh rebukes from Congress — on intelligence failures leading up to the war in Iraq, on secret prisons abroad and on the harsh interrogation techniques used on terrorism suspects. But with the release of records showing that it briefed members of Congress along the way, the CIA has effectively put lawmakers on the defensive.

Intelligence officials insist it wasn’t intentional and have not taken responsibility for publicly releasing the documents.

I don’t see it that way. I see an organization attacked by people who have just about zero knowledge-of or appreciation-for what they do. Of course the CIA is going to defend itself. Unlike liberal ‘rat politicians, the CIA takes their job and responsibilities seriously. I hope they do cover their backsides and spank a few lib-tards’ along the way.

Let me get this straight,

You accuse an agency of a crime,
You accuse the prior administration of a crime
You deny prior knowledge of said crime
You demand investigations into the agency, employees and prior administration

But no one is allowed to defend themselves? Guess again, CIA is not going to go quietly.

A nice dream but too many dims and other useless people in charge. It would be wonderful if some real patriots in there would leak stuff damaging to 0. I would wager anything harmful to the false messiah is locked down beyond belief.

I don’t trust the CIA. They went after President Bush and now they are going after the Democrats. They refused to be reorganized by President Bush.

They don’t seem to have much honor nor a whole lot of success and they represent themselves - not us. The Democrats are as mean as they are.

No way, most of those idiots don’t have a clue about the vast quantity of intel/dirt the CIA has. Just remember Sandy Burglar - all you gotta do is stuff some papers down your pants and walk out the door. Heeheehee

Accidents happen in life. Faulty engine in the air, overdose, car accident, crossing a street, out at sea and for reasons unknown.

Let’s see -

the CIA did the job it was asked to do,

the leading Dims were briefed on that job,

the Dims approved that job by their consent and lack of dissent on it,

then,

when their radical minions obtained the Executive and came looking to hold someone accountable,

and looking to do so regardless of the consequences that would evolve from their actions,

the Dims had no problem approving the release of information that might undermine not only certain individuals in the intelligence community, but our intelligence efforts themselves,

and, in pure Dim hypocritical fashion,

they want the open, public tale of it all

to exclude their part in it.

The dictum of “you reap what you sow” seldom rings as true in U.S. politics as it does in this case.

But, the real hypocrisy of it is their self-imposed requirement, in slavery to the radical leftists, to refuse to defend the very actions of the CIA that were completely defensible and which they knew were defensible in the first place. There was nothing missing in their original failure to object. The only honest thing missing now is their failure to say that.

"Intelligence Committee member Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) said it appears that “members of the committee or their staff were not in any way involved in [the release of the document]. It appears to come from the executive branch itself. ... I think it’s unbelievable."

When you lie about an agency of that magnitude you SHOULD expect them to “allow” the real facts and truth to be known.

Levin appears, however, that he’d prefer a US Intelligence Service that keeps the lies of the RULING Party hidden from public view?

How simply Nazi-like?

I’d bet Levin would just gush with love for the Gestapo?

As some have already said, thank God there are still plenty of real American’s working for the CIA.
