Sears has read this poem out loud at events.
The theme of the poem is basically that all American blacks are good, no matter what, and all whites are bad, no matter what. And it ends with wanting her (the poet's) people to rise up.
It is not a measured and intelligent look at race in America. It's an emotional glorification of victimhood.
It's not what I look for in a Supreme Court Justice. How many events were graced with her reading this?
I would like to cite that elsewhere.
Is she on YouTube reading it? I can’t find it.
Found it; or at least where Sears claims “For my People” is her favorite poem.

Gotta love a person whose favorite poem is about an army of blacks who kill all the white people and take over.
What a bigot.
