We can only hope that others watched what happened to Bristol and had second thoughts about teen pregnancy.

Last November your argument would have been correct but since then the Palin’s have been their own worst enemy. I liked Sarah last November, but I did not idolize her. Her family needs shut up if she is to be taken seriously. How am I destroying her? She is not a martyr or a saint, she is a politician and criticism comes with the territory .

They really have not been their own worst enemy. There has been a teenage feud (one-sided) that the left are glad to exploit and cite as an example of Sarah’s lack of viability. These teen issues will long be dead by then, it’s May 2009.

I may have went to far with “destroy” but it seems like you are jumping on this non-issue so you can unleash your negative feelings for her. Is she a viable candidate for 2012/2016? Yes. She clearly is viable in that she can control the media cycle and raise the money. All that in an attractive, principled package. If she can gain more public speaking skill and deepen her knowledge of the issues she’ll be strong.

I think your all over playing the “experience card”, experience cuts both ways. Good judgment does not always come from experience, and experience does not always come from bad judgment, that is a ridiculous quote. Some people are smarter than others and they can see the train coming.

“NOTE: Alinsky’s Rule #4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity”

There is a tough minded counter to #4; you point out to the Lib that since he has no experience with Christianity, he is talking gibberish when attempts to apply the rules of Christianity against Christians. Until he has become a Christian, he is vainly ignorant in attempting to judge Christians, indeed the Lib is incoherent and foolish in trying to do so! Then shut the conversation down and walk away. You can’t argue with fools says Proverbs and you don’t cast pearls before swine lest they turn around and rend you to pieces.

In other words don’t let them “make” you live up to “rules” they have no real concept of, Challenge them to become Christians so that they can know what they are trying to criticize. “Make them”think dialectically and rationally!

“Aren’t we waiting for Jesus to return?”

yes but in the meantime we must fight the good fight.

“I’m not looking for perfection, but this trashy Palin soap opera is making the Republican party look like a bunch of clowns”

IMO its this attitude of ignoring the problem and not talking about it that has led to the sky high birth rates for teens. This is a HUGE problem across the country. These kids are only doing what they have been taught so if you want to blame someone and call them trashy look to the baby boomers.

So Bristol might as well make a few bucks off the “crisis” using her “experience” because she now has “good judgment”.

You have something against making money? She probably needs it to care for the child.

The palin cult does not like statements like that.

That’s a good idea. I’ll have to mention this to my wife. Although we’re approaching our first anniversary, we’re trying to collect as much good advice as we can for that future time when we will have to dispense our wisdom to our children. :)

“Would we teach our children how to do drugs safely, just in case they could not control themselves and just HAD to do drugs? It seems a silly concept to me.”

I’d guess this is coming in BOs second term.
