that is, every legal household --- would get a credit or check from the Treasury Department every single month equal to the FairTax they would be expected to pay on the basic necessities of life during the following month. This FairTax prebate is so essential to the FairTax plan that to ignore it, or to be unaware of it entirely, is worse than careless.

Great under this plan we will have more people rushing towards their mail boxes for their government checks at the first of the month! And isn't it going to be great when the government decides how much food and basic necessities you deserve for the month?

You obviously haven't seen the prebate amounts to be paid. Fair Tax FAQ #3. One example: A family of four will receive a monthly prebate check for $537. This is far too little to pay the bills. At least one member of that household will still have to work to pay the bills.

True, but that is the only way to make sure the poor people pay no taxes. Lots of people that are just twice at poverty level, will be paying half the taxes that the rich folk pay.

If you don't want the prebate, don't apply for it.

SO, would you rather the government decide how much of your paycheck you can keep each month?

Would you rather enable the government to reach into your paycheck through the miracle of withholding and CONFISCATE that portion they deem legal before you’ve tithed, taken care of your family or saved a penny for retirement?

Given the option of being in control of my paycheck vs. not being in control of my paycheck, I’ll take control of my paycheck ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

Take the “Pre-bate” and bank it for a rainy day or a vacation. Problem solved.
