Reposting this with CG’s name after nachums..cuz it happened again. ???
I took some courses led by the pastor for potential new members. He said, something..and I can’t quote him here, my mind is a blank. But my answer was “Christians feel GUILT when they sin”. He said I was right.... So to witness a self-professed church to sin, is just heart wrenching.
I have a terrible issue with knowing the fact that there are so many denominations, interpretations etc., it’s a RISK to go to any IMHO. Not sure how to get past that.

Christians feel GUILT when they sin Actually, I always heard that Jews have guilt, Christians have shame. :)

You get “past it” as you say, by faith. It's hard to play catch-up after you've led an uninstructed life, but it can be done. Prayer, bible study, courses from qualified spiritual counselors and more prayer will lead you to your church home. When you get there, don't depend on everyone in that church to be “perfect,” they won't be. Pray and tend to yourself so you can keep your faith in Christ Jesus intact.
Try the RCIA in your area. I think you'll find a great deal of support and good counsel.
