The Magna Carta actually DOES put forth freedoms and liberties granted to all English, in direct contravention of the Islamic Fundamentalist path that England is now taking... But nothing in the Magna Carta guarantees freedom of speech, which Savage sees as being taken from him. So his reference to the Magna Carta is inappropriate.

He was implying that a country which would draft a document which would secure freedoms of ANY nature would be insane to start limiting freedoms once considered acceptable—all in the name of Islamic Fundamentalist influence.

The Magna Carta was the world’s first “Bill of Rights”, as it were. It’s from that, that we based our own Bill of Rights. I think that was the reference.
