How were they successful?? What changed????

*I* changed.

My 8 y/o daughter changed when we participated in our local TEA party. When I saw those people of different races, ages, religions, etc. standing there on the sidewalk near our main street, waving American flags proudly, speaking their mind and exercising their first amendment rights while car after car after car drove by, honking their horns, giving thumbs up signs--I almost started crying because THIS was the America I grew up with!! Patriotic Americans, speaking their minds again unjust, un-American leaders--demanding to be seen and heard to get our message across. *I* changed, because I felt an infusion of hope (not that hopeychangey crap Obama espouses) and encouragement and patriotism that I hadn't felt in *years*. My daughter experienced first hand the wonderful feeling that Americans have taken for granted over these past years since my childhood--FREEDOM. And she wants to fight for it too!! I watched coverage of several tea parties across the country, and to a person the people being interviewed also said they felt encouraged, hopeful, patriotic, and AMERICAN again...so yes, the tea parties were successful. Now please, tell me how you spent your Tax Day on April 15th?? Participating in a tea party in your local area? Part of me doesn't think so, but I would be pleasantly surprised to hear otherwise!

I understand the “change” in people, what I’m saying is I don’t see anyone in power noticing or doing anything to change the way things are done. I know about the pride and tears in attending a teaparty, it was moving, motivating, and nice to see others of like mind, I just want to see some change in the way things are done in washington and so far no one in power wants to address what happened on the 15th except to suggest we are racists, crazy, etc.
