I politely disagree. He just has to get a following of people who agree with him on the core issues.
What kind of executive experience did Obama have?
What U.S. state did Obama govern before he was elected POTUS?
Besides, if Hunter served out one full term as Governor, he'd be at least 65 years old (likely closer to 70) before he'd be able to run for President.
Not a good strategy, IMO.
The time is now.
Can we please be realistic here?
There are wood planks in my garage that have more charisma than Duncan Hunter. And they didn’t vote for all that pork barrel spending either.
And no, charisma isn’t the most important quality in a candidate, but it’s very helpful to have a candidate with the personality that can develop the following you’re talking about. Aside from like 10 true believers on FR, he hasn’t done that and won’t do that.

Is Obama the standard you wish to use to choose the chief executive of the United States. I would think we would have a higher standard. I think the best candidates have experience such as governor or mayor of a large city, executive experience in a large company or command experience in the military .... if not they will not have the experience necessary for the position.
Yes, and don’t forget his ‘present’ votes. Nothing mattered.
